/ DANGDI / DANGDI / DANGDI /Danish pension provider ATP suffered a difficult third quarter this year.
A negative result reduced its nine-month total return to 1.5 percent.
ATP published these financial figures in an official online press release.
The company did not share the exact loss for the third quarter.
The scheme had a strong 14.5 percent return at mid-year.
However, ATP lost most of those early gains during the summer.
Chief Executive Martin Præstegaard blamed rising interest rates for the drop.
He noted that higher interest rates hurt the fund's investment performance.
Despite the quarterly loss, guaranteed pension payouts remain fully secure.
Præstegaard confirmed that members will receive their expected lifelong monthly payments.
ATP holds a robust bonus capacity to protect member pensions.
The fund's overall return for the year remains in positive territory.
ATP is Denmark's statutory supplementary pension scheme.
It currently counts around 5.8 million members across the country.
Workers doing at least nine hours weekly pay into the fund.
Employers and certain benefit recipients also make regular contributions.
Investments account for roughly 20 percent of ATP's total assets.
