/ DANGDI / DANGDI / DANGDI /Appealing public welfare and municipal decisions in Denmark may soon become easier and fairer. A broad majority in the Danish Parliament supports a new expert study.
The parliament wants an expert group to examine creating specialized administrative courts. These new courts would handle citizen appeals on public welfare and municipal services. They would also deal with disputes over administrative decisions made by local authorities.
Currently, municipal and welfare decisions are handled through standard administrative appeal systems. Foreign workers, students, and foreign families often navigate these public services daily. Establishing dedicated administrative courts could provide clearer legal recourse for residents. It aims to give citizens a more structured way to challenge official decisions.
The expert group will now evaluate how these specialized courts should function. This initiative comes after broad political backing in the Folketing. Further updates will follow as the expert group presents its findings. This report was originally published by CPH POST.
