/ DANGDI / DANGDI / DANGDI /Denmark will launch four new bus routes funded by its Armed Forces. The new buses will connect small towns to military bases in remote areas. Public transport in these areas is currently weak. The general public will also be able to ride these buses.
The Folketing Finance Committee approved the funding proposal. Defence Minister Jeppe Bruus supported the plan. He wants to attract and retain military staff. He noted that good transport helps build military combat power. The buses will also reduce reliance on private cars. They will offer flexible options for work and leisure.
The military will receive 2 million Danish kroner in 2026. The trial will run for three years. The total budget is 17 million Danish kroner. The official document does not name the route locations yet. Regional transit firms may take over busy routes after the trial. Low demand routes will be stopped.
