/ DANGDI / DANGDI / DANGDI /The Danish krone has lost value against major foreign currencies in 2026. This change directly affects travel costs and foreign shopping for local residents. The Chinese yuan has gained 9.8 percent against Denmark's currency. However, the krone remains stronger against the Swedish krona.
Chief economist Allan Sørensen at Dansk Industri supplied the figures. Denmark's effective exchange rate has fallen 2.7 percent this year. This rate measures the krone against key trading partners. A weaker krone helps Danish export firms win orders abroad. Buyers in China, the US, Norway, and Japan pay less now.
Currency values have moved differently in each market. The Norwegian krone climbed 12.9 percent over the past year. The US dollar and Japanese yen both gained 4.8 percent. Meanwhile, the Swedish krona dropped against the Danish krone. Low Swedish inflation makes holidays in Sweden much cheaper. The Turkish lira fell the most, down 9.7 percent.
