/ DANGDI / DANGDI / DANGDI /Denmark's economy is growing faster than expected. This growth points to a strong job market for local residents. New statistics show Denmark's GDP grew 0.9 percent in quarter two. That is 0.6 percentage points higher than the last forecast. Compared to last year, the economy is 5.7 percent larger. Statistics Denmark updated its data calculations to reach these figures.
Danske Bank chief economist Las Olsen commented on the news. He said Denmark is performing extremely well compared to other countries. Danish companies are producing much more goods abroad. Specifically, medicine maker Novo is producing far more pharmaceuticals.
Dansk Metal union chief economist Erik Bjørsted also offered analysis. He believes employment is a better economic indicator than GDP. Quarterly GDP figures can fluctuate and carry high uncertainty. However, companies continue to hire more workers across the country. Employment rose 0.2 percent in the second quarter of this year.
