Danish CPR Leak Discovered After Unusually High Invoice

Officials discovered the breach through an unusually large invoice. A small company submitted the bill to the government. The Ministry of Research, Education and Digitalisation reported the incident on Tuesday.
Official Leihardt explained that the invoice amount was very large. High activity on the system triggered the initial awareness. The unnamed company originally had legal access to the registry.
Officials still do not know the hackers' exact motives. Laila Reenberg leads the Danish Agency for Social Security. She stated it remains unclear how hackers intend to use the CPR numbers. The Local reported the official statements.
