/ DANGDI / DANGDI / DANGDI /Denmark will not exempt disabled applicants from citizenship financial self-support rules. Denmark's Eastern High Court issued the ruling on Friday.
The court supported the Ministry of Immigration and Integration. It rejected a claim of indirect discrimination against a disabled woman.
The applicant is a Palestinian woman who moved to Denmark in 1999. She suffered a traffic accident ten years later in 2009. Afterwards, she worked in a subsidized flexjob due to reduced ability.
Authorities rejected her citizenship application in February 2023. She failed to meet the required financial self-support threshold.
Her lawyer argued the decision violated human and disability rights. The High Court concluded the refusal was not unlawful discrimination. This report is based on coverage by CPH Post.
