/ DANGDI / DANGDI / DANGDI /Passing the Danish citizenship test has become easier for local residency applicants.
Nearly 60 percent of test takers passed the June exam.
This is the highest pass rate in five years.
The Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration released the new data.
Out of 6,242 participants, 3,657 people passed on June 3rd.
That equals a pass rate of 58.6 percent.
It is the highest rate since June 2021, when 66 percent passed.
Denmark has required the citizenship test for naturalisation since 2007.
Language schools host the exam twice a year, usually in May and November.
The pass rate dropped sharply to 40 percent in November 2021.
That happened after officials added ten new questions about Danish values.
Those questions covered topics like equality, free speech, and legislation.
Candidates did not have learning material for those questions at that time.
The test now contains 45 total questions.
Candidates can prepare for 35 questions using provided study material.
Five questions cover recent Danish news, politics, and culture.
Another five questions test Danish values like freedom of expression and equality.
To pass, candidates must answer 36 out of 45 questions correctly.
They must also answer four of the five Danish value questions correctly.
