/ DANGDI / DANGDI / DANGDI /Your visitors from visa-exempt countries do not need an ETIAS travel permit yet. The European Union has officially postponed the ETIAS launch indefinitely. Official portals have removed the late-2026 target date.
ETIAS was created for travel to the Schengen Area. It targets visitors from countries like the UK, US, and Canada. These visitors do not need pre-travel authorization right now. They do not need to pay any fees before traveling.
The delay is caused by technical issues with another new system. That system is the Schengen Entry and Exit System. Its rollout created long queues at several airports. EU officials will review the timeline again in September.
Local residents should beware of fake third-party websites. Some unofficial sites claim to sell or pre-sell ETIAS passes. You should not buy anything from these websites. This news was originally reported by Euronews.
