/ DANGDI / DANGDI / DANGDI /Danish citizenship applicants face stricter scrutiny as parliament debates naturalisation candidates.
Dansk Folkeparti wants to strike a Pakistani man from an upcoming citizenship bill.
The bill would grant citizenship to 2,055 foreign nationals next year.
Party spokesperson Mikkel Bjørn cited a 2016 Facebook post.
DF claims the post showed support for an Islamic execution.
Bjørn asked parliament to remove the man or question him directly.
The applicant denied supporting violence in a statement to DR.
He stated he supports freedom of speech and peaceful coexistence.
Liberal Alliance made a similar demand regarding a female applicant.
They claimed she praised Hamas leadership online.
These cases have intensified national debates on citizenship screening procedures.
Denmark passes citizenship legislation twice every year following detailed background checks.
The current bill was postponed after the general election call in February.
The government recently announced plans to screen applicants for anti-democratic views.
However, lawmakers will vote on this bill before that new system starts.
