Copenhagen Apartment Prices Drop as Housing Supply Grows

Buying an apartment in Copenhagen may cost slightly less now. Average owner-occupied apartment prices in Copenhagen fell by 0.5 percent from July to August 2026.

Figures from housing portal Boligsiden show similar drops in nearby areas. Prices in Frederiksberg also fell by 0.5 percent. In Aalborg, apartment prices dropped by 2.7 percent. However, prices in Aarhus rose by two percent during the same period.

Market conditions are shifting across major Danish cities. Fewer apartments are currently being sold in the capital. At the same time, the supply of available flats is growing quickly.

Housing economist Birgit Daetz from Boligsiden explained the current trend. She noted that a slower sales pace and rising supply are driving price cuts. Buyers now have more options on the market.
