Copenhagen Airport Sees Record Passenger Numbers in September

The airport processed 3.2 million passengers in September 2026.
This marks a four percent increase from last year.
It was the busiest September in the airport's history.
Peak summer travel now extends well into autumn.
Chief commercial officer Peter Krogsgaard explained the record numbers.
He said September had almost as many travelers as summer months.
Copenhagen is a key transit hub for Scandinavia.
Many local residents also take autumn trips to southern Europe.
Others fly across the Atlantic to North America.
Norway was the top destination with 270,000 passengers last month.
Spain followed with 255,000 passengers.
The United Kingdom was third with 245,000 passengers.
Popular destination cities included London, Stockholm, Oslo, Amsterdam, and Paris.
Direct routes to the United States grew by eight percent.
About 140,000 people flew direct between Copenhagen and the US in September.
New York, San Francisco, Boston, and Chicago were the top US cities.
Airline traffic will remain heavy through October.
Denmark holds autumn school holidays during week 42.
Sweden's autumn holiday takes place two weeks later in week 44.
