Copenhagen Airport reports busiest September ever
Copenhagen Airport handled 3.2 million passengers in September, marking its busiest month on record as autumn travel nears.

The high travel season now extends past the summer months. Airport officials say Copenhagen is a major transit hub for northern Europe. Many locals also flew south for warm weather or visited US cities.
Norway was the most popular destination country last month. Spain and the United Kingdom followed close behind. London, Stockholm, Oslo, Amsterdam, and Paris were the top destination cities.
Travel between Denmark and the United States grew by eight percent. About 140,000 people took direct flights to the US in September. SAS, Delta, and American Airlines operate 12 direct US routes from Copenhagen. New York, San Francisco, Boston, and Chicago were the most visited US cities.
The airport expects 1.1 million passengers during the October autumn break. Danish school holidays take place in week 42 from October 12th to 18th. Sweden's autumn break follows two weeks later in week 44. Southern European destinations like Spain, Italy, and France remain top choices.
