China Opens Regular Arctic Shipping Routes to Major European Ports
Chinese shipping companies are launching regular Arctic container routes to Europe, significantly cutting transit times between Asia and Northern Europe.

Six Chinese firms will run cargo ships through Russia's Arctic sea route. Container ships will carry goods to major ports like Hamburg and Rotterdam.
Sea Legend Shipping starts eight weekly trips on August 15. NewNew Shipping will also run three ships on these Northern paths.
China will offer 72-hour ice forecasts to guide these vessels. Russia approved seven Chinese ships to use the route to Europe.
The Arctic route saves up to 15 days compared to Suez. It saves 25 days compared to going around Africa. According to Arctic Today, this marks the busiest Arctic season for Chinese ships.
