/ DANGDI / DANGDI / DANGDI /The EU and China reached a trade agreement on hybrid vehicles and tariffs. This deal helps stabilize prices on imported goods and cars in Scandinavia.
Chinese Commerce Minister Wang Wentao met with EU Trade Commissioner Maroš Šefčovič in Beijing. China agreed to voluntarily manage its hybrid electric vehicle exports to Europe. This export cap will last for the next four years. The plan prevents high safeguard tariffs on Chinese hybrid cars.
In return, Europe will cut tariffs on several key European goods. Lower tariffs will apply to auto parts, olive oil, and footwear. The tariff cuts will save an estimated 225 million euros in duties. China will also streamline export licensing for rare earth materials.
The agreement helps prevent an escalating tariff war between China and the EU. This deal brings stability for local consumers, entrepreneurs, and trade professionals. (Source: Brussels Times)
