Age Limit Set for Men Receiving Public Fertility Treatment in Denmark

Starting January 1, 2027, Danish public clinics will cap male fertility treatments at age 55. Men must get a referral before turning 55 years old. All public fertility treatments for men must end when they turn 56.

For women, the age limit at public clinics remains 40. Danish health regions based this new decision on health assessments.

This policy change affects residents planning fertility treatment through public healthcare. Patients using public health services should plan their doctor referrals early. The Copenhagen Post reported the new regional decision.
