Sweden Launches National Health Programme for Youth Up to Age 20

Families in Sweden will get continuous health support for youth up to age 20. Social Affairs Minister Jakob Forssmed announced the new national health programme.

Currently, child health centre visits in Sweden end at age five. After age five, healthcare for young people often becomes fragmented. The new plan expands routine healthcare visits beyond age five.

The National Board of Health and Welfare presented this framework. Young people will receive six extra health visits. These visits include medical, student health, and dental care.

The programme covers youth from before birth up to age 20. It offers health exams, interviews, and support for parents. Authorities want to discover and address health problems earlier. Sweden Herald reported these details about the project.
