New Arctic Shipping Route Cuts Transit Time for Chinese Goods to Sweden

Chinese goods and e-commerce orders may soon reach Stockholm much faster. Shipping operator Sea Legend launched a regular Arctic route to Europe.

The service uses the Northern Sea Route, called the Polar Silk Road. It connects ports in China directly to European destinations. Ships carry electric vehicles, lithium-ion batteries, and consumer goods.

Travel time through the Arctic takes 18 to 25 days. This transit cuts delivery time almost in half. Traditional shipping routes go around the Cape of Good Hope or Suez Canal.
