Sweden Votes in General Election with Government Control at Stake

Conservative Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson promised to improve daily life. He highlighted recent drops in shootings and record low asylum applications. He promised cabinet posts to the Sweden Democrats if his alliance wins.

Far-right leader Jimmie Akesson expressed confidence during a rally at Kungstradgarden in Stockholm. Polling stations close at eight in the evening. Exit polls will follow immediately, with reliable results expected later at night.
