Digital delivery begins on August 15 through certified mailboxes like Kivra.
Paper voting cards will go out starting August 17.
All voters should receive their cards by August 26.
Early voting also begins on August 26.
The general and municipal elections take place on September 13.
Sweden is using digital voting cards for the first time ever.
Around 6.5 million voters will receive digital voting cards.
Another 2.1 million voters will receive paper cards by post.
Voters no longer need to bring voting cards to vote.
You only need a valid ID to cast your vote.
This rule applies to early voting and election day.
Swedish Election Authority head Anna Nyqvist confirmed this change in a press statement.
She noted that valid identification is fully sufficient for voting.
Permanent foreign residents in Stockholm can vote in local municipal elections.
