Sweden Reports Measles Outbreak Linked to Summer Festival
Swedish health authorities have linked 11 measles cases to a cultural festival held in Västernorrland.

/ DANGDI / DANGDI / DANGDI /Health authorities in Sweden have linked 11 cases of measles to a music festival. The cases stem from the Urkult festival held in Västernorrland county.
The festival took place from July 30 to August 1. A new infection was confirmed today by health officials. Health staff are now tracing contacts across several Swedish regions.
Most of the infected people are unvaccinated children under the age of 18.
Measles is a very contagious disease. It causes fever, respiratory symptoms, and skin rashes. In severe cases, it can cause pneumonia or brain inflammation. These complications can be fatal. The Swedish Public Health Agency Folkhälsomyndigheten reported the news.
