/ DANGDI / DANGDI / DANGDI /Shopping online from non-EU platforms will soon become more expensive for residents in Stockholm.
The European Union will charge a new 2 euros handling fee on parcels from outside the bloc starting November 1, 2026.
This fee applies to each item category inside a single parcel.
It comes on top of a 3 euros customs duty enacted earlier that year.
EU authorities created the measure to curb the massive influx of cheap e-commerce shipments.
More than 90 percent of these low-value packages arrive from China.
Many Chinese residents in Sweden rely on platforms like AliExpress, Temu, and Taobao for affordable everyday items.
The new rules will directly raise total prices right before the winter holiday shopping season.
