/ DANGDI / DANGDI / DANGDI /Stockholm shoppers will see new package signs at food stores as EU trash rules take effect today. The new rules add QR codes and clear symbols on packs to help people sort waste at home.
According to Sveriges Radio, the goal is to cut waste and boost recycling across Europe. Making packaging easier to sort and recycle is now a key requirement for companies.
Makers must use less material, cut harmful chemicals like PFAS, and make boxes easy to re-use. Grocery stores must also offer more refill choices for daily items. These steps will make waste sorting simpler for households in Sweden.
