Denmark Plans Total Mobile Phone Ban in Elementary Schools

Denmark plans to introduce a complete ban on mobile phones in elementary schools. The ban will affect public folkeskoler and private schools up to age 16. Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen announced the new plans recently. The measure follows poor academic results in the latest PISA study.

Students will not be allowed to use phones or private screens in classrooms. The ban will also apply to schoolyards during break times. There will be a few clear exceptions to this rule.
