Tunnel camera operators spotted the vehicle turning around to head back toward Denmark. Copenhagen Police then closed the motorway before the tunnel to keep drivers safe.
Duty officer Michael Andersen told Ritzau no other cars were nearby during the incident. The foreign driver is now charged with reckless driving under Danish law. This news was reported by Danish broadcaster DR.
