Sweden Tightens Family Permits and Lowers Criminal Age
Swedish lawmakers approved stricter family reunification rules and lowered the criminal age to 14.

/ DANGDI / DANGDI / DANGDI /If you live in Sweden or cross the Øresund border, new rules are coming. Swedish lawmakers voted to lower the criminal age to 14. They also approved stricter rules for family reunification.
The Swedish Riksdag passed the law with 281 votes in favor and 66 against. The lower criminal age applies to serious crimes. These include murder, aggravated rape, and serious weapons offenses.
The legal package also removes sentencing discounts for multiple convictions. At the same time, it tightens requirements for family permit applicants. The Copenhagen Post reported the parliamentary decision.
