Sweden Opens Early Voting Ahead of September Election

Advance voting is now open across Sweden ahead of the September 13 general election. Foreign residents and cross-border Øresund commuters may be eligible to vote locally.

Citizens of EU countries, Norway, and Iceland can vote in municipal and regional elections. Long-term foreign residents in Sweden also qualify for these local votes. Voters can cast ballots early at polling stations across the country. This early voting system is known as förtidsröstning.
