Stockholm Chamber Urges More Direct Long-Haul Flights

Stockholm travellers face far more layovers than those flying from Copenhagen. Arlanda Airport has lost half its share of direct long-haul flights since 2016. That finding comes from a new Stockholm Chamber of Commerce report.

The report compares Arlanda with Copenhagen Airport Kastrup. Arlanda passengers made 640,000 extra route connections last year alone. This situation makes long-distance travel harder for local residents.

Policy chief Carl Bergqvist warns this trend hurts Sweden's global competitiveness. The Chamber now wants a special fund to co-finance key flight routes. (Source: Sveriges Radio)
