Second car collision hits new Greater Copenhagen light rail in Lyngby

Commuters on Copenhagen's new light rail line face delays after a car collision in Lyngby.

A car collided with a Letbanen train at Nybrovej and Buddingevej on Thursday morning.

Police received the report at 7:24 AM.

The driver was not seriously injured.

Ambulance staff treated the driver at the scene.

Police suspect the driver ran a red light.

Traffic lights at the intersection broke down earlier that morning.

Police directed traffic before the lights started working again.

Buses briefly replaced trains between Buddinge and Lundtofte.

Trains are running again now.

However, passengers should expect delays according to Metroservice.

This is the second crash on the northern section since Saturday.

The line opened 17 new stations on Saturday.

The first crash happened Saturday evening on Buddingevej in Gladsaxe.

Police are still searching for a hit-and-run driver from Saturday.
