Schengen Borders Prepare for EES Rollout With Winter Travel Delays Expected

Non-EU travellers in Denmark and Sweden should expect potential delays at Schengen borders this winter. You should budget extra buffer time when crossing external Schengen boundaries over the holidays.

European border guidance has detailed expectations for the Entry/Exit System rollout. Schengen airports will show varying enforcement levels for mandatory biometric checks. Non-EU passengers may experience different waiting times depending on their arrival hub. The system requires biometric identity checks for travellers arriving from outside the region. Authorities advise passengers to factor in border processing times when planning winter travel. The update was reported by Business Travel News Europe.
