SAS Expects Fuel Expenses to Increase by 2.2 Billion DKK

Scandinavian airline SAS faces sharply higher fuel costs this financial year. Surging jet fuel expenses could affect flight operations across Denmark and Sweden.

The airline expects fuel costs to rise by 3.4 billion Swedish kronor. That amount equals about 2.2 billion Danish kroner.

Commercial director Paul Verhagen spoke to Danish media outlet Finans. He said jet fuel prices had more than doubled recently.

Fuel cost around 700 US dollars per ton before March. Prices have jumped significantly higher since then. This news was reported by The Copenhagen Post.
