Record Number of Danish Youth Choose Efterskole for Tenth Grade

More than a third of Danish 15-year-olds now attend an efterskole for tenth grade.

This choice is popular among local families with teenagers.

Data from Efterskoleforeningen shows 36.2 percent of the age group enrolled this year.

That equals 24,804 students starting tenth grade at a continuation school.

This marks the highest level in ten years of tracking data.

Last year, 24,212 students enrolled in tenth grade.

Ninth grade enrolments at efterskoler dropped this year.

The number fell from 5,763 students last year to 5,159 students.

Efterskoleforeningen will keep a close eye on this trend moving forward.
