Danish authorities warn that many children ride scooters illegally and too fast.
Police recently caught children as young as nine riding electric scooters in traffic.

Children under 15 can only ride if an adult accompanies them.
All electric scooters must have a maximum speed limit of 20 kilometers per hour.
Wearing a helmet is mandatory for every rider on Danish roads.
The Danish Road Safety Council found 21 illegal scooter cases within one month.
This count comes from media reports and police checks from September to October.
Some confiscated scooters were modified to reach speeds of up to 90 kilometers per hour.
Council chief executive Jakob Bøving Arendt urged parents to check the rules carefully.
Hospitals in Odense and Svendborg treated 811 injured scooter riders since 2021.
One quarter of these hospital cases involved serious physical injuries.
Doctor Jens Lauritsen from Odense University Hospital warned against modified scooters.
He stated that high speeds threaten riders and everyone around them on the road.
