/ DANGDI / DANGDI / DANGDI /Newer Danish driving licenses with code 148 are invalid abroad for driving manual cars. This affects people who plan to rent or drive manual vehicles outside Denmark.
Since 2024, over 80 percent of learner drivers in Denmark test in automatic cars. These learners also complete at least seven lessons in manual cars. They receive a driver license marked with code 148.
Inside Denmark, this license allows you to drive both automatic and manual vehicles. However, foreign authorities do not recognize code 148 for driving manual cars. Drivers with code 148 can only legally drive automatic cars when abroad, according to The Copenhagen Post.
