Lakolk Beach on Rømø Closes Daily for Military Drills
Lakolk Beach on Rømø is closed in the afternoon and night until Thursday while the military conducts exercises.
2026年8月25日Lakolk Beach on Rømø is temporarily closed for military exercises. The closure applies from today until Thursday. It runs from 15:00 to 02:00 each day. The Danish Armed Forces are using the area for training.
During these hours, the beach becomes a temporary military zone. Visitors cannot go down to the sand this year. Spectators must stay in the surrounding dunes. Captain Claus Sneppen told DR Nyheder about the change.
The military is testing more complex routines this year. Past drills only included daytime landings and takeoffs. Now troops are practicing night operations. Exercises include parachute jumps and special forces maneuvers. NATO forces, including American troops, are joining the drills.
