High Court Increases Sentences in Odense Assault Case
A Danish court increased prison sentences for four teenagers involved in a violent assault.

/ DANGDI / DANGDI / DANGDI /The Eastern High Court sharpened sentences for four 17-year-old boys today. The case involves severe violence against three homosexual men in Odense. The crime happened two years ago.
The district court previously gave two boys six months in prison. The High Court increased their sentences to one year. Two other boys were acquitted in the district court. The High Court now sentenced them to six months in prison.
The prosecutor wanted convictions under the hate crime clause. However, the High Court found no evidence of a hate crime. Defense lawyer Anders Rohde expressed surprise at the unconditional prison sentences. He noted his client was only 15 when the crime occurred. This report is based on information from DR.
