Fuel prices hit record highs across Denmark and Sweden

Fuel prices are surging across Europe due to the war in the Middle East. Drivers in Denmark and Sweden face much higher costs at the pump. In Denmark, fuel reached a record high of 19.19 Danish kroner per litre. Swedish petrol reached 17.59 Swedish kronor and diesel reached 22.86 Swedish kronor.

Swedish drivers may see even higher prices very soon. Temporary tax cuts in Sweden will expire this winter. Prices will rise by 1 Swedish krona on October 1st. Another rise of 3 Swedish kronor will follow on December 1st. Sweden currently has a caretaker government after its election. It cannot easily change these plans right now.

In Denmark, most people want politicians to cut fuel fees. Finance Minister Peter Hummelgaard said the government is monitoring the situation. He stated they are ready to act if energy prices keep rising. However, officials have not shared specific relief plans yet.

Other European nations show different price levels and policies. In Germany, E10 petrol reached 2.31 euros per litre. Diesel in Germany reached 2.47 euros per litre. Germany plans a fuel tax cut starting in October. In France, diesel reached 2.41 euros per litre. Norwegian diesel costs between 25.34 and 30.95 Norwegian kroner per litre.
