The European Union has proposed banning social media for kids under age 13.
The proposal also limits accounts for teenagers up to age 15.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen introduced the Kids Act proposal.
She presented the new plan during her annual address.
The rules aim to set safety standards for young online users across Europe.
