/ DANGDI / DANGDI / DANGDI /Goods from Central Europe will now reach Stockholm faster and more reliably. German transport company Kombiverkehr has launched a direct rail freight line between Duisburg and Malmö. This service operates directly through Denmark without using ferries. Cargo can move continuously from places like Barcelona and Duisburg straight to Stockholm. Local shoppers and businesses in Stockholm can expect smoother supply chains and better store availability.
The route launched on 2 September 2026 with two weekly return journeys. By January 2027, Kombiverkehr will increase the service to four weekly trips. Moving freight to rail helps companies avoid road congestion and ferry delays. Kombiverkehr is expanding its freight network across Europe this autumn. Other new routes connect Germany with Italy and Spain. For example, a route between Neuss and Barcelona started on 5 October 2026. Frequency between Cologne and Basel also increased due to low Rhine water levels. This expanded rail network makes cross-border shipping across Europe more flexible.
