/ DANGDI / DANGDI / DANGDI /Denmark will bring back its stalled citizenship bill in early 2027. This decision affects 2,055 people and their children. Immigration Minister Morten Bødskov told Ritzau news agency about the plan. The current government and several other parties back the move. They want to solve the growing political delay on citizenship.
All people on the list will face a new review first. Staff will check if candidates still meet all strict rules. They will inspect debt status and living permits. Some people may lose their place if their status changed. Children who turned 18 during the delay will lose coverage.
Denmark will also test a new screening system before final approval. An expert group must check if the new model works well. The test will check if applicants share Danish values. Staff will look at statements made by applicants in the past. The Local reported these updates on the naturalisation plan.
