/ DANGDI / DANGDI / DANGDI /Denmark has resumed processing citizenship applications after a technical delay. The Danish Immigration Service is also resuming permanent residence cases. Certain family reunification cases are moving forward again as well. These applications were paused due to an error in the Criminal Register.
The Ministry of Immigration and Integration confirmed the update in a statement. Officials discovered the register system error in early September. Some decision records had been accidentally deleted from the police database. This issue threatened to impact cases relying on criminal record checks.
The National Police restored the deleted data from their system files. Police now assess that the consequences of the error are very limited. Case handlers can now verify background information safely and accurately. Applicants awaiting decisions should see their cases proceed normally.
