Denmark Launches Emergency Plan for Child Psychiatry

Families in Denmark will soon see shorter waiting lists for youth psychiatric care.

The government and local authorities presented a new emergency plan today.

Health Minister Ida Auken launched the agreement alongside regional and municipal leaders.

The agreement involves the government, Danske Regioner, and KL.

The main goal is to provide help much earlier to young people.

It also aims to significantly reduce long waiting lists in youth psychiatry.

This initiative builds on the government foundation announced in early June.

Officials have already allocated one billion Danish kroner to fund the effort.

This budget will cover planned improvements from 2026 to 2028.
