/ DANGDI / DANGDI / DANGDI /Denmark has issued safety advice after a massive personal data breach. The leak exposed 8.8 million Danish CPR personal identification numbers. Other personal information was also leaked in the incident.
The Agency for Societal Security published the new guidance this week. CPR numbers are Denmark’s official personal identification numbers. The leak puts certain vulnerable groups at higher risk. These include people who have suffered previous harassment. Workers in high-risk jobs should also take extra care. Public figures and minority group members may face increased risk too.
Exposed groups must pay attention to their daily surroundings. They should review their behavior on social media platforms. Home security measures should also be checked carefully.
Anyone in physical danger can apply for name and address protection. The agency suggests contacting the police if you feel unsafe. People can also contact crisis centers or the Danish Stalking Center.
Residents can request a hidden, secret, or unlisted telephone number. A hidden number stops receivers from seeing who is calling. Secret and unlisted numbers are removed from public online directories. This news was reported by CPH Post.
