Denmark faces low invasion risk but higher cyber threat

Denmark faces no direct threat of conventional military invasion. Danish intelligence says an invasion is highly unlikely. However, the risk of hybrid attacks on public services is growing.

Thomas Ahrenkiel heads the Danish Defence Intelligence Service. He presented an updated security assessment on Thursday. He noted a small risk of limited military actions near Russia.

Russia wants to create fear among Western nations. It also aims to weaken public support for Ukraine. Hybrid attacks could target railways and defence companies. Cyber attacks could also disrupt critical societal functions.
