Denmark Extends Schengen Visa Processing Time to 20 Days
Danish diplomatic missions have extended standard Schengen visa processing times to 20 calendar days for applications submitted after September 8, 2026.

Standard visa applications now take up to 20 calendar days. This rule applies to applications received after September 8, 2026. Business travel applications still receive priority. Visa requests for family members of EU citizens also get priority handling.
Complex cases referred to SIRI take longer to process. SIRI is the Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration. These complex cases may take up to 45 calendar days. Early application helps avoid travel disruptions and flight changes.
Meanwhile, email systems at Danish Honorary Consulates face technical instability. Applicants should contact honorary consulates by phone instead of email. Urgent inquiries can go directly to Danish embassies.
