/ DANGDI / DANGDI / DANGDI /Shopping online from non-EU platforms just became more expensive in Denmark. A new EU handling fee took effect on November 1, 2026. The fee applies to all parcels arriving from outside the EU.
You pay 2 euros, or about 15 Danish kroner, for each category in a package. The charge depends on when customs processes your package. It does not depend on your order date. Items bought before November 1 may still incur the fee.
Customs category rules base the fee on product codes. Three cotton T-shirts count as one category and cost 2 euros. A cotton T-shirt and denim jeans count as two categories and cost 4 euros.
This fee comes on top of a temporary duty introduced this summer. That duty adds 3 euros per category for packages under 150 euros.
The Danish Customs Agency reported 68 million low-value items entering Denmark in 2025. Over 90 percent of those goods came from China. Director Christian Lützen said the duty aims to support Danish businesses. Popular platforms like Shein and Temu rank among Denmark's top ten online stores.
