Checks in Denmark and Sweden will remain active until at least May 2027.
Germany and France are also among the eight countries maintaining these controls. The European Commission confirmed these updated border notifications. Travelers moving between Nordic countries and Central Europe must expect ongoing inspections. You must present valid travel documents and residence papers when crossing borders.
