Danish Household Confidence Reaches Highest Level Since 2022
Danish households feel more positive about personal finances and the current economy, though future concerns remain.

/ DANGDI / DANGDI / DANGDI /Danish households feel more positive about their personal finances and the local economy. The latest consumer trust indicator for August reached its highest level since March 2022.
New figures from Statistics Denmark show consumer trust rose to minus 13.1 in August. This figure was minus 14.7 in July. The six-month average stood at minus 15.7.
The overall score remains in negative territory. However, August shows a clear step in a better direction.
People feel better about their family budgets today. They also view Denmark's current economy more favorably. Yet, expectations for the national economy in one year dropped.
More households now believe they can save money. The savings metric jumped to 33.2 in August from 29.9 in July.
Helle Dalsgaard from pension fund Sampension commented on this trend. She noted that people may still hesitate to spend money. Instead, many households choose to prioritize saving up. This hesitation comes from future economic uncertainty.
Consumer trust in Denmark has been negative since November 2021. Kristian Skriver from Dansk Erhverv explained the primary cause. Sharp price hikes in gas, fuel, and electricity triggered the fall. Consumers have faced continuous economic challenges since then.
