/ DANGDI / DANGDI / DANGDI /Danish companies using artificial intelligence are hiring fewer young and highly educated workers. A new analysis from Danmarks Nationalbank reveals this shifting recruitment trend in Denmark. Employment grows more slowly at AI-using companies than at similar non-AI companies. This trend directly affects recent university graduates searching for their first jobs.
Danmarks Nationalbank analyzed company data alongside employment and wage figures from Statistics Denmark. Large Danish companies lead in adopting artificial intelligence compared to European peers. AI adoption is highest in real estate, rental, information, and communication sectors. So far, the overall national employment level has not declined. Wages have also remained unaffected across the Danish labor market.
Bank director Signe Krogstrup noted Denmark has a very flexible labor market. Widespread digitalization helps workers find alternative employment opportunities elsewhere. However, long-term impacts on Danish employment remain uncertain for now. AI might also create new businesses and completely new job roles.
Danish trade union Djøf expressed strong concern over the analysis findings. Djøf Chair Sara Vergo warned employers against cutting junior roles today. She emphasized that future senior specialists need early career opportunities to develop. This news report relies on findings published by CPH Post.
