The 29-year-old man was driving 201 kilometers per hour on a Swiss motorway.
The speed limit on the A12 motorway was 120 kilometers per hour.
He was returning to Denmark from a ski trip in January 2025.
Swiss authorities fined him 2,017 Swiss francs, about 16,300 Danish kroner.
Switzerland also banned him from driving in their country indefinitely.
Swiss officials notified Danish authorities about the violation.
Danish prosecutors invoked a rarely-used rule in Denmark's penal code.
The rule applies when an offense abroad would cause license loss in Denmark.
Consequently, his Danish license was rescinded for three and a half years.
Under EU law, losing a Danish license revokes driving rights across all EU countries.
This EU driving ban lasts until his Danish license is reinstated.
He remains barred from driving in Switzerland even after three and a half years.
In Denmark, such speed is classified as reckless driving, known as vanvidskørsel.
Reckless driving in Denmark results in fines, license loss, and car confiscation.
